The first Isle of Wight festival on 31st August 1968 at Godshill was headlined by Arthur brown and Jefferson Airplane, the latters first live appearance in this England. Dave created the ticket and poster designs, both reminiscent of his early work as a student in Liverpool. The back of the ticket carries a nice little story about Mary the Gnomes best Fairy. The gembral gording poster presented a memorable and striking image to promote the first festival. |
